Training for the intermediate
and advanced levels will require at least a Master's Degree
in the field of Human Services. We are planning several
trainings at various levels throughout the next year, and
want to group individuals according to prior training or experience
in this field.
Basic Level
of Training
The Basic Level of
Training is for individuals with limited previous reading/training
in Attachment Theory. Didactic and process groups will focus
on understanding the theoretical basis for Attachment Theory,
understanding children with Attachment Disorder within the
context of their families, understanding assessment techniques
and differential diagnosis, understanding a basic framework
for treatment and therapeutic parenting, and exploring professional
integrative issues. This course will be scheduled when a
minimum of five participants submit a $100 deposit.
COST- $1,000 includes Lodging.
(Individuals with
sufficient previous experience or knowledge may elect to
take a competency exam in lieu of the Basic Level of Training-$100)
Intermediate Level of
Training
The Intermediate
Level of Training will involve observation of a two-week
intensive, including processing each day's therapy sessions.
It will also include additional didactic and process experiences,
focusing on specific therapeutic techniques and issues as
well as therapeutic parenting techniques essential to the
treatment process. See the linked outline describing the
training.
COST- $3,000 includes Lodging
The intermediate
level of training will be provided three times in 2007:
We must receive
a $1700 deposit at least four weeks prior to each session
along with your application in order to secure your spot
with the group. Each session will be limited to six and
will be determined on a first come first serve basis.
Advanced Level of Training
The Advanced Level must be arranged with
a qualified Attachment/Holding Supervisor who can provide
the necessary supervision/mentoring essential to developing
the art and skills of an Attachment/Holding Therapist. The
fees for this level will be determined on an individual
basis.
Individuals may choose to end their training
at any point during this process, but should complete the
entire process if they desire to practice as Attachment/Holding
Therapists.
